Oral Placement Therapy (OPT)
- Signs: Difficulty chewing, swallowing, drooling, weak lip/jaw/tongue movement, unclear speech, trouble with blowing or sucking.
- Who Needs It: Children with speech delays, low muscle tone, apraxia, dysarthria, tongue/lip ties, or oral-motor based feeding issues.
- Therapy Includes: Jaw, lip, and tongue strengthening, straw and horn exercises, sensory oral stimulation, and speech clarity drills.
- Benefits: Improved speech clarity, better chewing/swallowing, stronger oral muscles, and enhanced oral coordination.
